Joshua Shaffer
"Do You Like Fun Facts?"
Hello, I am two time published author Joshua Shaffer. I have many things that I am involved in and I created this webpage to make it easier to see everything I do. Like my books, pins, podcast, magazine articles, and my public relations work for Tinker Bell. It was becoming a pain to have to continually give out multiple websites for all the things that I do. Just come here and find the page you want to go to.
Want me to have a book signing at an event?

Discovering The Magic Kingdom: An Unofficial Disneyland Vacation Guide
This book was referred to as "The Disney Bible" when it was revealed at D23 in 2017. It is 1 1/2 inches thick with 700 pages containing over 3,700 fun facts about Disneyland and Disney Movies. There are also over 750 photos. Click the "See More" button to read more about it or to order one.

If you are in the area, my books can be purchased from the gift shop in the Candy Cane Inn a little south of the Disneyland entrance.
1747 S Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92802

My Fantasy Pins
I started making pins in June 2016. These pins are called Fantasy Pins. They are not pins that are made by Disney, they are made by fans. They are original ideas that are not knock-offs of actual Disney pins. These pins cannot be traded with Cast Members in any Disney parks. So far I have created over 100 designs either for myself or as commissions. I call my shop DTMK Fantasy Pins after my book, Discovering The Magic Kingdom.

Special TERRI HARDIN PINS
These are special pins I co-created with Disney Imagineer Terri Hardin. She used to work for Disney on projects like Captain EO, Muppet Vision 3D, Dragon's Lair (Disneyland Paris), Star Tours, and others.
Big Al is from The Country Bear Jamboree which existed in Disneyland's Bear Country from 1972-1986. The land was renamed Critter Country in 1988 and the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown was there from 1986-2001 when it was removed to make way for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction. After it closed, the Big Al animatronics was repurposed for the Oogie Boogie animatronic in the new Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. You can still see the attraction if you visit the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Terri was the puppeteer for Big Al in the movie The Country Bears (2002).
Terri just created a new sculpt with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit as the subject. She sent me the sketch of Oswald to redraw as a pin.
Terri designed her Stitch pin with the Ground Councilwoman as the center attraction as she is Terri's favorite character in Lilo & Stitch (2002).

I am a blogger on a Disney themed website located at www.DisneyScoop.com. They post about Disney travel, movie reviews, current news topics, and Disney history. I write all about Disney history.

Theme Parkology started a streaming service called Theme Streaming. The website went live in July 2020. I provide one of several people adding content. My show is dedicated to the history and fun facts about the Disneyland Resort attractions, lands, Imagineers, and more. Occasionally there will be info about Disney movies as well. I even included audio recordings from Imagineers, music, or audio tracts from around the parks.
They will routinely put up episodes for everyone to listen to.

The Magic Behind The Ears Podcast
I was a co-host on a Disney themed podcast that is produced by Theme Parkology. The main host is Jerry Cornell. We interviewed Disney people like Rolly Crump, Susan Egan, Kristopher Blount, C. Andrew Nelson, Gina Rock, and more.
It has been a little while since we have done a show, but click the button to listen to what we have.

Public Relations Manager for Tinker Bell

I'm good friends with Jerry Cornell, the producer of the Theme Parkology documentary DVDs. We met as booth neighbors at the 2015's Mouse-Con. We are also on the podcast together. He interviewed me for one of his documentaries "The Enchanted Secrets of Disneyland vol 1."

Kitty Corner
With 18 years of experience working in an animal shelter, I noticed a need for something. There is a large portion of cats that come in that are considered "timid" or "scared." Mostly because of their new surroundings. These cats have a tendency to hide or try to find a place to hide. I came up with an invention that could be placed in timid cat cages that would give them a place to hide. If a cat can hide its face it thinks it is completely hidden from "danger." I made a disposable cardboard corner than gives them a place to hide their face but keep their body visible for owners to be able to identify them.
I created an Indie Go Go page (like KickStarter) to collect the funds for the patent. It was successful and I was able to patent it.
#61/835,835
The problem now is I can't find a company to produce them. That's where I am stuck at now.
Click HERE to see the video the patent company made.
